Mental health therapy refers to confidential talk therapy sessions, aimed to help people work through and with their emotions, understand and adjust their behavior patterns, and cope with life's stressors.  Erica approaches therapy from a mind-body perspective.  Behavioral therapy focuses on making actionable lifestyle changes or addressing a specific pattern of behaviors that no longer serve that person.  Psychotherapy or talk therapy involves verbal processing, developing insight into cognitive-emotional patterns, and problem solving.  Both styles of therapy can be an effective mode of treatment for those experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues.  Some people choose mental health therapy as an alternative to medication, or attend sessions in conjuncture with taking psychiatric medications to improve their ability to reach their health goals.

Please note that all sessions currently take place virtually, through a HIPAA compliant telehealth video platform called SimplePractice.  Clients must reside in either Pennsylvania or Maryland.

A Note for New Clients:
Choosing a therapist who is the right fit for you and your goals can be a tricky process.  Erica offers a free 15 minute phone consultation for new clients who are considering therapy and working with her.  There is no commitment or expectation to begin sessions during this phone call.  If you are interested in a consultation to discuss common therapy practices and ask questions, please contact Erica to schedule a time.

The next step to starting regular therapy would be to schedule a new client intake session.  This is a 75 minute appointment that reviews a client's history, current concerns, and goals for treatment.  Prior to the session, clients will receive electronic consent forms to sign to minimize the time spent on paperwork during the appointment.  They will also receive notifications to their phone or email with instructions on how to access the telehealth appointment on the computer or phone.

Session Rates:
New client intake (75 min.) - $150.00
Follow up appointment (50 min.) - $125.00
Follow up appointment (30 min.) - $75.00
Family or couples counseling (50 min.) - $150.00

Payment Methods:
Debit or credit card, FSA and HSA cards, or Venmo.

Erica does not accept insurance at this time, but can provide clients with a superbill that the client can submit for insurance reimbursement.  A superbill is a specific invoice of services that were paid for out of pocket by the client, designed for insurance claims.  If you are interested in this, please contact your insurance provider directly to understand their process of reimbursement.
